Screening yourself for depression and anxiety: answer 4 questions

Today’s work and family life are quite stressful and leaves us with little time to think about it, but not taking care of yourself emotionally can expose you to health issues such as high blood pressure, heart disease etc.

Depression and anxiety are much commoner in today’s stressful world than we imagine. Some of us feel low or anxious for considerable time but dismiss it because of the taboo or simply the effort required in going ahead and getting ourselves assessed

But, there is easy help available in the form of self assessment questionnaires, which have been validated and are used commonly in medical practice as a screening tool for these conditions, once you answer a total of four questions in total, you will be know immediately whether you should actually dismiss it, as you do now, or go for a consult

‘PHQ 2’ and the ‘GAD 2’ are two such self administerable tests. All you have to do is answer to the best of your ability (without over thinking)  and your answer will suggest further steps

2. Not being able to control worrying
